Selecting Your Service Type

Service Options and Understand Pricing
Now that you've identified what matters most to you and your family, you can explore the service options that align with your preferences. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires all funeral and cremation providers to give you a General Price List to keep, which shows the basic service categories for cremation and burial and the elements that make up the costs for those services. Some charges you can decline, some are non-declinable - it all depends on the preferences you select. The descriptions below will help you understand each type of service and what's involved.
Please note: Each of the following service categories can be customized based on your preferences. In fact, there are so many options it would be nearly impossible to cover them all. The descriptions below, as mandated by the FTC, provide some of the basic requirements. As you customize your choices, some options will lower costs while others may increase them. The only way to know exactly how your preferences affect the final cost is to reach out to us. We'll review your choices with you and provide clear, transparent pricing based on what matters most to your family.
Burial Service
When a family chooses burial, they create a permanent place where their loved one is laid to rest. Marked with a memorial or headstone, this space becomes a destination where family and friends can visit, honor memories, and leave flowers for years to come.
Burial services are typically held within a few days, prompting the family to gather sooner than later. Where someone can be buried is determined by state laws and local ordinances that govern cemetery operations.

Cremation
When a family chooses cremation, they gain flexibility in both timing and options. The need to gather soon after the passing is more influenced by whether there's a viewing. Without an immediate viewing requirement, families can hold a service when it works best for them - days, weeks, or even months later - allowing time for distant family to travel or for thoughtful planning.
The cremated remains can be kept in an urn, scattered in a meaningful location, divided among family members, placed in a cemetery or columbarium, or incorporated into memorial jewelry or art. What is done with cremated remains is guided by legal requirements imposed by state laws and local ordinances.
Direct Cremation
Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes cremation, removal and shelter of remains for 48 hours and transportation to crematory and necessary services of staff and authorizations. State and local laws do not require a casket for direct cremation. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container.
Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without outside covering). The containers we provide are reinforced cardboard containers. Refrigeration is required after 48 hours and will be added.
