Personalization

Customize Your Loved One's Memorial
We are often asked to help make the time of gathering special. Gatherings today are far different than even 20 years ago. Preferences change from one generation to the next. Making how personalized a gathering or ceremony can be comes down to imagination, time, and energy. Imagination is the only limitation for what can be done. Energy is something completely different. With all of the emotion and mourning you are feeling, do you have enough energy to gather all of the photos and personal items to do what you want to do? For many, they do not. No matter what you have the time or energy to put together, we are here to help.
To make a gathering meaningful, you only need to look at the life of the loved one you are honoring and find connections to their life.
Photos & Albums & Videos
Photos are most often used for personalization. It requires going through old photos which will take some time, but that process can also be important to your grief journey. For most, photos spark memories, memories encourage connection, connection is important to healing. Often displayed throughout the gathering area, sometimes saved digitally on a thumb drive to plug into a device, sometimes turned into a PowerPoint or movie. Time and technical ability can decide which option you choose.
Music
Music is an easy way to personalize that moment. While we require radio versions of the songs played to avoid offensive language, the genre of music is your choice. Whether you choose light and unrecognizable background music or a playlist of the favorites, connection through sound can be uplifting.
Memorial Folders
Memorial folders or programs are one of the traditional service items that has transferred to the next generation. Some have a photo of the loved one on the front, some could be themed or faith based.
Other Meaningful Items
Other meaningful items can also be brought and displayed. Over the years, we have experienced some great gatherings with unexpected yet meaningful items. The following examples are meant to demonstrate the imagination of others and what they brought for their gatherings: a motorcycle, a wall-mounted bear, a spinnaker sail, gardening tools, cupcakes, golf clubs, fishing gear, a Model T Ford, and more.
In the end, personalization comes down to imagination, time, and energy. We are here to help you bring it all together.
