We are often asked to help make the time of gathering special. Gatherings today are far different than even 20 years ago. Preferences change from one generation to the next. Making how personalized a gathering or ceremony can be comes down to imagination, time, and energy. Imagination is the only limitation for what can be done. Energy is something completely different. Photos are most often used for personalization. It requires going through old photos which will take some time, but that process can also be important to your grief journey. For most, photos spark memories, memories encourage connection, connection is important to healing. Often displayed throughout the gathering area, sometimes saved digitally on a thumb drive to plug into a device, sometimes turned into a PowerPoint or movie.
