William A. Tripp, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2026.

Born and raised in New Bedford Massachusetts, William lived a life defined by dedication to his family, service to his country, and commitment to his community. He proudly served in the United Stated Air Force during the Korean War. Following his military service, he began a long and steady career with PCI, from which he retired after 25 years of faithful employment.

In 1995, William relocated to Hampton, Virginia, where he continued to live a life of purpose. After retirement, he found joy and fulfillment working as a school bus driver-first in Massachusetts and later with Hampton City Schools, where he remained until his retirement in 2017. He was known for his reliability, kindness, and the positive impact he had on the many students he safely transported over the years.

William was preceded in death by his son, Delfino Garcia. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, JoAnn Tripp; his children, Benjamin Garcia, Katarine Kendall (Richard), Steven Tripp, Brenda Bates, Tracy Burrell (Larry), Mindy Garcia; his daughter in law, Ann Marie Garcia; as well as 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

A celebration of William’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11,2026, at Menchville Baptist Church, 248 Menchville Road, Newport News, Virginia.

William will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his quiet strength, and his deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.
