William O. Moore, known as Billy, was born Feb.11, 1951 to Lester H. Moore and Delsie Moore. He was originally from Poquoson, Virginia and passed at his residence on Monday June 24, 2024.
Billy was a welder, carpenter, business owner, and spent a majority of his life as a waterman on the Chesapeake Bay. He was most proud of his time served and accomplishments as President of the Virginia Working Waterman's Association and his contributions in creating the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Moore; grandson, Devon Moore; great-grandson and namesake, William Moore; and his siblings Daisy, Harrell, Jimmy, and Chris.
