William Chris Lane, 63, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Born in Smithfield, he was a lifelong Peninsula resident and was a Master Plumber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin L. Lane and Layla Jean Lane;  two brothers and a sister. Survivors include his children, Virginia Lane (Kevin), Cory Lane (Shannan), and Layla Lane; six grandchildren; his girlfriend, Alice Shumate; and two brothers and one sister.
