William Daniel Eyre, 75, passed away on June 28, 2021.  A lifelong resident of Hampton, he served 4 years in the US Navy, then graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University where he majored in Theatre Arts.  He retired from James City County Parks and Rec as a Program Facilitator.

Bill was active in local Community Theatre performing in plays at Peninsula Community Theatre, Williamsburg Players, Poquoson and Smithfield.  He also volunteered with the Peninsula Aids Foundation during their annual Fundraising Auctions.  As an avid runner, he competed in many races in the area culminating in the New York Marathon.

Bill is survived by his partner, Howard Britt; brother, James T. Eyre and Sister-in-law, Sarah Eyre; and nieces, Kathleen Swinson and Sally Rock.

A celebration of Bill's life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton.
