Vickie Lyn Lawrence, age 58, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Born to James and Theda Shifflett, she was a lifelong resident of Hampton.

Vickie worked for Sentara Careplex Hospital in medical records for 33 years.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Shifflett, Maternal grandparents, Oscar and Imogene Stewart, mother-in-law, Mary Lawrence Bailey.

Vickie was a friend to all that met her. She loved her job and coworkers and anyone she came in contact with. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, however we all can take some comfort in knowing that she is free and at peace with no restrictions.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 24 years, Joseph "Joey" Lawrence; daughter, Faith Lawrence; mother, Theda Shifflett; sister, Glenda Shifflett; brother, Gene Shifflett, Tommy, Weasy and Brian Coleman, special extended family as well as a host of other family and friends that will miss her deeply.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to Sentara Careplex hospital for the compassionate care during her last hospital stay, as well Davita Home Dialysis center for your compassionate care with her dialysis care.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
