Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Ruffin Sawyer, Jr., 71, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019. Born in Fayetteville, NC, he has been a resident of Newport News since childhood. Tom graduated from Warwick High School and retired as a Union Carpenter.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ruffin and Pauline Sawyer, his brother, Steve, sister, Sue Sillery and sister-in-law, Debbie Raphael.
Tom leaves behind his daughter, Julie Sawyer Blevins; nephew Michael Munson (Kylie) and great-niece, Tatum, many relatives in North Carolina, his wonderful neighbors, the Phillips', and his little buddy, Ricky.
At Tom's request, there will be no service. Gathering of family and friends to be determined at a later date.
