Sheila Darmaryez Singleton-Jerome, daughter of Georgia Singleton-Alexander and the late Wade Singleton Sr., was born February 6, 1967 in Newark, NJ. She was the first of three children.

She graduated from Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark, NJ in 1984. Sheila attended Jefferson Business College, DeVry University, and Capri Institute of Hair Design. She was a chemist at Colgate for 10 years. Her first love after God was being a fashion hair stylist which she excelled in. Sheila loved to cook for others, enjoyed making others laugh, displayed creativity and had a flair for fashion.

Sheila transitioned to heaven on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at age 53. She resided in Roselle, NJ. After a brief hospital stay, she settled in Hampton, VA with family.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Wade Singleton Sr., grandparents Grace Williams, Ernest Williams, Eula Mae Gordon, and Arthur Gordon.

Sheila leaves behind to celebrate her life: Her mother, Georgia Singleton-Alexander, her brother, Wade Singleton Jr., her sister, Yolanda Rush (Anthony) Niece, Destiny Rush, Nephews, Anthony Rush (Sopha), Justice Rush, and hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be forthcoming due to pandemic. We will keep you informed.
