Savior "Joe" Joseph Giuliana, Jr., 64, of Hampton, passed away on August 24, 2025. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he lived in Hampton for 51 years and dedicated more than three decades of service to NASA Langley, beginning his career in 1993 and later graduating from NASA'S apprentice school. Currently he was working as an Equipment Specialist.
Joe was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brianna I. Supplee. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathy I. Giuliana; children, Alyssa Giuliana-Esquilin (John), Katherine L. Esquilin (Dwayne), and Savior Joseph Giuliana, III (Julie); sisters, Terri Giuliana, Debra Moore-Zeirow (Rolf), and Tami Giuliana-Featherlin (Allen); brothers, Vincent Giuliana (Stephanie) and Tony Giuliana (Beth); and grandchildren, Chloe R. Supplee, Pedro J. "PJ" Esquilin Jr., Annabella E. Esquilin, Dejanyah "Ame" Esquilin, Gabriella L. Esquilin, Anessa L. Esquilin, Sophia I. Esquilin, Elijah Pavon, Elahni Pavon, and Atticus J. Giuliana who is on the way.
Joe was known as the "Go to Guy" at NASA. His expertise in high pressure control systems and craftsmanship left a lasting mark, with his fingerprints left on countless projects supporting NASA's mission. Beyond his technical mastery, Joe was respected for his generosity, teamwork and willingness to mentor others.
Joe deeply loved children, especially his grandchildren, and was known for his humor, selflessness, and caring spirit. He always put others before himself and brought joy through his jokes and kindness, intelligence and uniqueness. He freely shared his knowledge with anyone willing to learn.
Joe will be remembered as a devoted family man, an exceptional colleague, and a loving soul. There will never be another like him, and he will be forever missed.
Joe's life will be remembered and celebrated by Rev. Bert Rait at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton.
In keeping with Joe's love for planting and growing things outside, the family wishes in lieu of cut flowers, any expressions of sympathy to be something that can be planted outdoors.
