Roy E. Jackson Jr. "Ronnie" of Newport News, VA passed away April 16, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by the love and presence of his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and lifelong public servant. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Eye Jackson Sr., mother Constance Gaylor Jackson, and brother Randy Jackson.

Ronnie was born in Gladys VA, April 23, 1948, and moved to Hampton VA as young child. He was a graduate of Hampton High School and proudly served the community for over three decades in the fire department, beginning as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic in Hampton and later retired as a Master Firefighter from the Newport News Fire Department. He also worked at Riverside Hospital for many years. He was a hero, not just in uniform, but in the way he lived - with honor, compassion, and love for his family and community.

He is lovingly remembered by his three children, his son Michael and wife, Linda Jackson; their children Brady, Alexis, and Conner; his son Jeffrey and wife, Jennifer Jackson; their children Juliana and Jacob; and his daughter Robin Jackson; her children Logan, Jordan, Riley, and Kyleigh. He will also be remembered by his wife, Neta Jackson. Ronnie's legacy lives on in their hearts, with warm memories of his passion for gardening, fishing, sports, and his weather updates that they will forever cherish.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ronnie's memory to your local Fire Department or the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk, causes that reflect the spirit of his life and service.

He will be laid to rest with Firefighter honors in a private ceremony with close family and friends at a later date.
