Roderic Ward Phill

Roderic “Rod” Ward Phill, 75, passed away on July 15, 2026. Born in Kansas City, KS, he has been a resident of Hampton since 1960. He retired from Raytheon after working 30 years as a Program Analyst. He had also worked at Hechinger’s, was a teacher at Tidewater Community College and worked part-time at Walmart for 25 years.

Rod was a huge fan of the musical groups: The Beatles, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Neil Young and Yes.

Rod is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sally W. Phill; children Rebekah K. Phill and Joshua E. Phill (Jessica); siblings Linda Phill, Patricia Lang and Robert W. Phill, Jr.; and granddaughter, Berkeley E. Phill.

The family will receive friends from 4:30-5:30 pm Friday, July 24, 2026, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton, 757-825-8070. The family wishes any memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
