Robin Elaine Thompson, 68, passed away on February 25, 2023. Raised in Barnsboro, NJ, she has been a resident of Hampton since 1974. She made a long career in banking before moving to academia with St. Leo University. She was passionate about her role as an academic advisor, particularly working with members of our military. Although she retired a few years ago, she continued to pursue her own education. After receiving her bachelor's degree in 2018, she went on to get her Masters in Criminal Justice and Behavioral Studies in July 2022. She was also a member of several academic honor societies due to her hard work throughout her college career.
She was an avid lover of coffee, chocolate, sloths, sparkly things, her cat Pizza, and most of all her family. Her friends and family will miss her smile, wicked sense of humor and positive attitude so very much.
Robin is survived by her husband of 48 years, Stephen E. Thompson; son, Matthew Thompson; daughter, Laurie Maravillas (Matthew); sister, Lynn Henry; grandchildren, Nick Maravillas and Aiden Maravillas; She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harold and Ruth Simmermon.
A celebration of Robin's amazing life will be held on Saturday, March 11th at 10am at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton, and led by Charlotte Dillow. A reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robin's name to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America by CLICKING HERE .
