Ricky Benthall

December 30, 1967 – September 9, 2021

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Ricky.  God called him to come home on September 9, 2021. A lifelong resident of the Peninsula, he was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for EW Meuller Contractor for over 20 years.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father John W. Benthall and brother, Eugene Benthall.  He is survived by his companion, Sharon Conrad; mother, Judy Benthall; siblings, Tina Carter, Tony Benthall, John Benthall Jr and Robin Johnson; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins; and his faithful pet and sidekick, Prince.

Ricky will always be loved and missed so much far beyond his passing.  He was a kind gentle man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

Honestly, I can say he was a wonder family man, never hesitating to help family member when called upon to help with our needs.  He was and will always be the most responsible and best provider for his family I will ever know in my life.  He cared for me and our dogs, our family.

He worked hard his whole life as a mechanic because that was his passion and it provided well for a modest lifestyle.  I know he touched many lives and he has many many friends.  Our lives get so busy and we just don't seem to find time for a lot of people in our lives. But just know that this is coming from our hearts that Ricky and I both welcome you to have fun memories, pray for him in heaven, be thankful for him that he is no longer suffering, and be glad that you knew such a wonderful man.

We than you for coming to honor his name and memory.  He will know that we are all here in his honor this evening. I can't express how much I loved him.  I told him quite frequently.  Always before we went to bed, we kissed each other and said, "I love you, sweet dreams, good night."  Once again thank you to all and Rick says, "Thanks you also." As he always did.

I would like to especially thank Hospice Services, all of Ricky's friends who checked on him frequently, the visitors from year ago, his mother Judy for all her love and help with caring for her son; his aunt Pricilla Saunders who we cannot go without mention for all of her time, love and support in helping care for Ricky's last months.

The family will receive friend from 6-7:30 pm Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton, 757-825-8070.
