Mrs. PJ Jackson, 74, of Smithfield, VA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 in her home in Smithfield, VA.

Born October 26, 1946 in Granite City, IL she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Delma Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Lane Cooper on January 26, 2014.

PJ Jackson was a longtime member of Seaford Baptist Church. PJ encompassed over 30 years of combined federal service as an Aerospace Engineer with the US Army Aviation Applied Technology Directorate. PJ graduated with a Master's Degree in Engineering Management ('97) from George Washington University. She played piano since age 3, dazzling friends and family with her talent and charm.

PJ is survived by her caring husband of 35 years, James Dennis "JD" West; children, Tamara Cooper and Rick (Dawn) Herzing; sisters, Debbie Rogers and Nancy Moore; grandchildren, Alyssa Herzing and Jason Herzing (Kelly); great-grandchild, Dimitri Herzing; many nieces and a nephew; in-laws, John (Lisa) Knox, and Eric (Lindsey) VanZandbergen.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Seaford Baptist Church, Seaford VA.
