Holsinger
February 18, 1922 – April 10, 2022
Paul Everett Holsinger, 100, died peacefully in his home on April 10, 2022. Paul was born on February 18 th , 1922 in Timberville, Virginia. He enlisted in the army in 1940 and served in Panama prior to the start of World War II where he served valiantly in the Pacific Theater during the New Guinea and Bismark-Archipelago Campaigns. He was wounded on May 23, 1944 and was subsequently awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for his bravery. After discharge from the army in 1945 he resided in Hampton where he worked as a mechanic at Poquoson Motors until he retired in 1986.
On June 30 th 1956 he married Eileen Holsinger. Paul was proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eileen Holsinger and his son John Richard Holsinger. He is survived by his two daughters Karen Gott and Cindy Sample; his six grandchildren, Cheri Helman (Rob), Stacey Walls (Jason), Scott Gott (Vic), Jamie Sample, Randy Sample, and Nick Sample and three great-grandchildren, Camden, Caleb and Kenna.
The family wishes to thank Virginia Hospice Services for their excellent care and support during this difficult time.
The family will receive visitors at their home April 20 th at 4pm – 8pm. A graveside service for Paul and Eileen will be held at a later date at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Newmarket, Va.
