Patricia Ann Toon Nucup, 78, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Sentara CarePlex Hospital.  Born to Joseph and Anna Toon in Graves County, Kentucky, she was a resident of Hampton for 44 years.

Patricia was a member of the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic parish at Langley AFB where she and her family attended Mass and where all her children served as Altar Servers. She proudly served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM) in the Orthopedic Department at the Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland. She completed her boot camp at the Bainbridge Naval Training Center, Maryland and her hospital corpsman school at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in 1965. She attended Southwestern College in San Diego and was a graduate of Riverside School of Nursing in Newport News.  She was a Registered Nurse (RN) with Hampton City Public Schools at the time of her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ernesto Toon Nucup, Jr.; sisters, Mary Josephine Toon, Belinda Toon, and Betty Clark.

Patricia leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 54 years, Ernesto (Ernie) Nucup; daughters, Jane and Marianna; sons, Marc and Robert; sisters, Joyce Schepers, Frances Womble, Gloria Gregory, Bonnie Henderson Wilson, Janie Williams, and Pam Green; brother, Joseph Earl Toon, Jr., all of Kentucky; and five grandchildren, Eleanor, Juleigh, Gabriel, Sammy, and Anna.

Pat loved cats. She had Alexandra and Fredie, both deceased, and Trudy – all rescued and adopted through the years.

Pat was kind, respectful, and loving, and we will miss her dearly in our lives. We can honor her by living her life of kindness and respect for others.

Private family services will be held in Fancy Farm, Kentucky at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity .
