Oswald Johann (O.J.) Becker, 77, died on December 9, 2021 after losing his fight with lung cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. O.J. Becker was born in Schallodenbach, Germany on May 2, 1944 during an air raid over Southern Germany.
He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Franziska Becker and his sister Rita Mosbach. He is survived by his wife Susan Criner Becker, and his children, Emily Littrell and husband Lance and their sons Liam and Lex; son, Michael Becker and Lisa Parron, and bonus daughter Angela Miller and her sons Crosson and Charles.
Growing up in Germany, O.J. was a great fan of Western Cowboy movies. After his formal schooling, he entered an apprenticeship in business and food retail. In 1971 he followed his dream and came to the United States. He became a citizen and served in the Unites States Air Force for 20 years. He was an avid American History Buff and collector of just about anything relating to Cowboys and Indians. This hobby eventually turned into his "Cowboy Trash N Treasure" Ebay business.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 100 Harpersville Rd. in Newport News. Immediately following at 11:00 AM, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Dan Beeman.
The family wishes any expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to your favorite Children's Charity.
