Norman Eugene Davis, 79, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Born in Marion, NC, he has been a resident of Hampton since 1943. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War for 4 years and was a disabled veteran, then worked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 43 years until his retirement in 2020.

Gene is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Ann Davis; daughters, Jennifer Kidd (deceased), Liz Maldonado; sons, Eugene Davis (Claudia Davis), Christopher Davis (Yeardley Shortt) and William Davis; sister, Judy Peters (Gary Peters); grandchildren, Nicholas Opat, Breanna Davis, Veronica Davis, Kristina Basabilbaso, Senior Airman Angel Maldonado, Savannah Davis, Mitchell Shortt and Alannah Basabilbaso; and seven great-grandchildren.
