Norma Jean Gilmer, widow of Ted Gilmer, passed away on January 9, 2022.  Born in Calhoun Battle Creek, Michigan, she has been a resident of Newport News since 1968.  She retired in 2005 after 37 years with civil service as a purchasing agent.

Norma was also preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and Arthur Kline; sister Patricia McCurdy and brother, Arthur Kline.  She is survived by her son, Tracey Gilmer; sisters, Mary McCoy, Barbara Graff and Penny Ryan Brooks; brother, Allen Kline and grandson, Christian Lee Gilmer.

Norma's life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 20, 2022 at First Friends Church, 1062 Big Bethel Rd in Hampton, by Pastor Joe Stroud.
