Nina Faye Vann, 70 passed away peacefully with her family by her side the morning of July 15, 2022 after a long illness. Nina was born in Lexington, VA November 16, 1951 to Joseph and Nellie Shifflet. When she was a year old the family moved from Newport News, Virginia to Hampton, Virginia where she would finish her education, graduating from Bethel High School class of 1970.
On September 30, 1978 she married the love of her life, Randy and they had one son, Travis. After working for many years, Nina got to be a stay at home Mom and enjoyed her free time doing crafts, painting and scrapbooking, where she made many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nellie Shifflet, her only brother J.B, and a nephew Jessie Shifflet.
She is survived by her husband Randy, son Travis, his wife Emily and her beautiful granddaughter, Kelsey. She is also survived by her sisters, Neva Adams (Don) of Newport News, and Helen Bateman (Jeff) of West Point, VA. Brother-in-law Wade Vann (Debbie) of Roswell, Georgia and Sister-in-law Teresa Sheets (Willie) of Hampton, VA. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Karen Tutone, Sarah Bateman, Beth Bristow (Chris), Jon Adams, Rachel Compton (Jonathan), David Adams (Sarah), Stasha Shifflet, Mike Vann, Ryan Vann (Jennifer) Brianna Culver(Ray) Robert Cody Sheets (Stacey) and Marisa Sheets. And many great nieces and nephews that were very special to her.
Nina was taken away from us too soon, but we know that she is in the hands of our Lord. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Her service was conducted by Frank Forehand, Minister Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions July 22, 2022 at 2pm.
