Nancy Dixon Simmons, age 74, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022. Born in Roanoke, VA, she was a Hampton resident for 68 years. She was a pillar of the First Friends Church community, having served as a youth leader, choir director, ladies group leader, and most recently elder and book keeper. She started her own real estate broker business and also worked for Gina at Fitzhugh-Wilson Real Estate. Nancy loved ballroom dancing, watching a good movie, and was a fabulous cook.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Larry Ward; second husband, Marty Simmons; father, Alfred Edward Dixon, Sr; and brothers, Alfred Sonny Dixon and W. L. Dixon.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Amy Eskew (Keith); son, Bradley Ward (Meredith); mother, Virginia Dixon Mayo; sisters, Annette Hart (Harris) and Jane Turner (Barry); brother, Doug Dixon (Melody); grandchildren, Zachary Ward, Macy Erichsen (Joseph), Kasey Lawson (Josh), and Noah Eskew; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Kenzo, and Kendall; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Hampton Friends Church, 1062 Big Bethel Rd, Hampton, VA.
