Mervin Bruce Daye, 77, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020.  Born and raised in Newport News, he graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1961.  He went on to Michigan State University and graduated with a Master's Degree in Computer Technology.

Bruce worked as a Computer Analyst for various Companies in California until 1995 when he moved to Culpepper, VA to work for Swift Inc.  He moved back to Newport News in 2000.

Bruce is was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice Gilliam and St. George Bruce Daye.  He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Lorraine Somerville, Linwood Daye, Pamela Daye Graves and Hiawatha Burton.
