Mary Carolyn Rose, 73, or Carolyn as her family and friends knew her, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Born in Clover, VA, she has been a resident of Hampton for 65 years. She worked in retail sales for many different stores, including Costco, Miller and Roads, and Boulevard Cleaners. She was also a faithful member of Parkview Church of God. With her passing the world has truly lost a ray of sunshine. We will deeply miss the sound of her laughter, the brightness of her smile and the look in her eye when she told you all about her children and grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 17 years, Vada Lee Rose Jr; daughters, Michelle L. Gibbs and Melanie A. Epstein; sister, Shirley A. Williams; brother Hilton D. Henderson; grandchildren, Krystal L. Washington, Kellie A. Bass, Joshua D. Gibbs, Joshua T. Ward, Emily G. Epstein and Ethan B. Epstein; and great-grandchildren, Willow J. Bass, Braydon G. Gibbs and Clara J. Gibs.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Curtis D. Henderson.
Carolyn's life will be remembered and celebrated by Pastor Terry Swiney, at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 11th at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton, 757-825-8070.
