"Tiny" Mabel Virginia DeShong, 75, passed away quietly, surrounded by her family, at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA on Monday June 3, 2019.  Born in Unakleet, AK, on October 8, 1943, as part of the Inupiaq people, she was a resident of Fairbanks and visited often to Hampton, VA, Tucson, AZ and Rocklin,CA, to visit her children and grandchildren.

Tiny is survived by her significant other of 25 years, "Papa Mike" Mike Braden; son, Tony W. DeShong, his wife, Lisa DeShong of Hampton, VA,; daughters, Connie L. Fousse', her husband, David Fousse', of Tucson, AZ, and Janice "Dippy" Peatross of Rocklin, CA; grandchildren Stephanie Fousse', Mary Peatross, Samantha Fousse', William DeShong, Steven DeShong, Sara Fousse', Kellie Howell, and Nicolas DeShong; sisters, Lorraine Chapman and Lucy Jones; brother, Willie "Goody" Eben. She is predeceased by her parents, Wayne and Sarah Eben; brother Clyde "Sonny" Eben, and sister Amy and brother-in-law, Gene Paris.

She retired as a Data Processor for BP Oil and Gas. She enjoyed working with beads, crocheting, quilting and was an avid reader.  She had a love of Boston Terriers, Betty Boop and playing bingo.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Alaska, date to be determined.
