Lillian Arlene Lanzarone
April 2, 1924 - August 24, 2019
On April 2nd 1924 Lillian Arlene Eyler was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her family
soon moved to Queens, where she would later meet her "Husband -to-be",
Tony, now deceased. On March 12, 1944 Lillian and Tony were
married and ventured out into the world being a happily married couple.
For years Lillian worked as a legal secretary while Tony served 4 years in the
Army and then as an apprentice in the tool making division at the New York
Naval Shipyard. He attended college at night and became certified in teaching.
For the rest of their marriage Lillian was first a devoted Roman Catholic, a
loving and devoted wife and while not having any children of their own at one
point fostered a young boy and they raised two Chihuahuas' as if they were their child.
After years of traveling across the U.S.A. in their makeshift Volkswagen camper,
also making it to Canada and Mexico, they settled down in Ocala FL.
"On top of the world" and shortly thereafter to Lakeview Terrace in
Altoona, FL. where Lillian eventually lost the love of her life, Tony, on March 15, 2005.
After entering into the "Alzheimer/Dementia" world Lillian moved up to
Newport News, VA. to be closer to family. On March 30, 2014 Lillian made
that journey and until her passing on Saturday, August 24th was surrounded
by family and her extended family at "The Evergreen"at Warwick Forrest, and lived
happily ever after.
Lillian is remembered for her strong commitment to Jesus (and Joseph, lol).
She was a committed, strong willed women who loved Church, the Rosary and her
family. In her younger years Aunt Lil loved playing golf with Tony, crocheting and
walking around the lake, Lake Quida, at Lakeview Terrace a couple of times a
day.
While Lillian will be missed, she will be happily remembered.
