IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leroy
Samuel
November 7, 1935 – September 25, 2021
CMSGTAF LeRoy Samuel went home to his heavenly father on 25 Sept 2021 at his residence in Tabb, VA. LeRoy was born in Asheville, NC on November 7, 1935, one of five children, having two brothers and two sisters.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his beloved wife Geraldine Anita, mother Wilie B. Beasley siblings Charles, Calvin & Thelma.
Sam leaves on earth his sister Joyce E of Las Vegas, children Charles E (Cynthia), Roger A (Jennifer), and "Little Sam" LaRai L (Nathaniel); six grandchildren Christina Marie, Roger Allen II (Tocara), Imani Lee (Derrick), Brooklyn Ashley, Shaila Lynn, and Ryan Patrick; ten great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, neighbors, mentees, and friends.
Sam, as he was affectionately called, served honorably in the USAF 20 plus yrs. He was the highest-ranking Senior Enlisted Advisor finishing his career as a government employee at Langley Air Force Base Headquarters Tactical Air Command.
Sam is a disciple of Jesus Christ and worshiped at Chapel 3 at Langley Air Force Base; he later joined his wife at First Baptist Church of Hampton, VA, and served as a Trustee, within the FBCH food ministry, and past president of A Holder's Men's Choir.
Sam believed in protecting, providing, and servicing wherever the need arose. Work, play, and fellowship- Sam had a desire to impart his wisdom and leave you better off than when he met you.
LeRoy Samuel would say, "Cheap isn't always cheap."
"If you are paying for it, get what you want" "Don't chase money; chase wisdom."
"Listen, baby girl, if they can't love you like or better than me; leave them to Jesus!"
"We like to eat good and look good so someone gotta go to work!"
Although his later years left him with health challenges, he delighted in seeing his grandchildren succeed.
Chief Sam, Bro Sam & Mr. Samuel left this earth, and our lives better than he found us.
Family and friends memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Hampton on 10:00 AM Saturday, October 16,2021.
Bro Sam's request in lieu of flowers please donate to the Black Veterans Project (https://www.blackveteransproject.org/).
