Kent Douglas Peters of Norfolk, Virginia passed away on December 3 , 2021 after a lengthy illness. Kent was a kind and loving son, brother, uncle and great uncle and will be remembered for his wit, his accepting heart, and his love for his family.
Kent was the son of Harold and Helen Peters. He was born on December 15, 1965 on a United States Air Force Base in England where his father was stationed. He returned to the US as a child and after graduating from Hampton High School, Kent served in the Navy as a hospital corpsman stationed in the New England area. He was honorably discharged and spent the rest of his adult life in Hampton and Norfolk.
In addition to his parents, Kent is survived by three brothers; Mark (Cathy), Lee (Penny), and Clint (Rita) and one sister; Kris Smith. He is also survived by four nieces, two nephews, and four great nieces. Kent was loved by all who knew him, will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Centurion located at 61 Bernard Road, Fort Monroe, Virginia on December 13 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Centurion Interdenominational Church. Kent's family is appreciative to the nurses and staff at the Coliseum Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Hampton for the care and compassion he received.
