Obituary

Colonel Julius Grant Scott, Jr. (U.S. Army Ret.), age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023. Julius was born on July 3rd, 1950, in Hollywood, S.C. to the late Julius G. Scott Sr. and Sallie Nadine Harper Scott.  He graduated from St. Paul's High School and Clemson University, and remained a lifelong fan of the Clemson Tigers.
After graduating from Clemson, Julius headed to Ft. Eustis, VA, where he began his military career. He proudly served his country during Desert Storm, serving as a commander of a CH-47 helicopter unit, and retired from the Army after 26 years of service in 1998.
In addition to his parents, Julius was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lisa Anne Scott; and his sister, Judy. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Tracey Greer and husband Russ; son Rhett Harrison Scott; his grandchildren, Hunter and Logan Greer; his sister, Marilyn Stark and husband Paul; brothers, Gary Scott and wife, Charlene, and Danny Scott and wife Linda.
A graveside service with full Military honors will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 in Roxboro, NC.  Arrangements are by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton, 757-825-8070.
The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 100 Harpersville Road. Newport News, VA 23601.
