Julia Battle

Julia May Battle peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her home in Hampton, Virginia, surrounded by her family’s love.

Born on November 19, 1937, to the late James and Elizabeth Fields, Julia was raised in Newport News, Virginia, where she attended public schools. She faithfully served the City of Hampton for many years before retiring.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Bobby Battle; her sons, Curtis Everett and Jimmy Everett; her brother, Linwood Fields; her sister, Lucille Dorsey; and her granddaughters, Keisha Everett and Tylet Bumpers.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughters, Sweetie Everett and Patricia Everett of Newport News, Virginia; her brothers, Wilbert Fields of Hampton, Virginia, Bernard Fields (Patricia), and Wayne Fields of Newport News, Virginia; her sister, Mary Williams of Hampton, Virginia; her granddaughters, Crystal Everett and Julia Everett; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Julia will be remembered for her quiet strength, loving heart, and devotion to her family. She found joy in life's simple blessings and touched many hearts with her kindness, compassion, and warm spirit. Her love, wisdom, and cherished memories will remain with those who knew her, providing comfort and inspiration for generations to come. Though she is no longer with us in body, her presence will live in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest peacefully, Julia, and may your legacy of love continue to shine brightly in the lives you touched.
