Jason Andrew Herzing

Jason Andrew Herzing, born March 19, 1986, in St. Louis, passed away on May 6, 2026 in Hampton.

Jason was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend whose love for the people around him could be felt in every part of his life. Jason loved God deeply, and that faith shaped the way he loved his family, cared for others, and moved through the world.

He shared a beautiful sixteen-year love story with his wife, Kelly. Together they built a life full of laughter, love, companionship, and joy that was obvious to everyone who knew them. Friends often remarked on how inseparable they were and how clearly in love they remained throughout the years. Whether they were together at home or simply texting throughout the day, Jason and Kelly were always connected. He showered Kelly and their son, Dimitri, with endless love, tenderness, and care, always making sure they felt cherished every single day.

Jason believed deeply in trying to do the right thing. He wanted to be a good man — someone people could rely on, someone who protected and encouraged others, and someone who helped people see goodness and humanity even in difficult situations. He had a rare ability to empathize with people who felt misunderstood or judged and made countless people feel accepted simply by listening to them. Jason truly never met a stranger.

Known for his insight, charm, passion, faith, and infectious laugh, Jason had a way of making people feel welcome wherever he went. He could hold a conversation with anyone and often gravitated toward those who felt overlooked or out of place, offering warmth, humor, and understanding without judgment.

Jason had a true passion for cooking and feeding the people he loved. Many knew him as an incredible cook who found joy in bringing people together through food. Whether preparing meals for family and friends or spending time in the kitchen for the people he cared about most, cooking was one of the ways Jason expressed love.

His lifelong love of professional wrestling was equally well known. From backyard wrestling matches to attending local wrestling shows, wrestling was one of the great joys of his life. He built lasting friendships within the wrestling community and loved talking wrestling history, storylines, and facts with fellow wrestling fans. His favorite wrestler was Sting, whose iconic look connected to Jason’s love of The Crow and the character Eric Draven. His favorite quote from the film was, “It can’t rain all the time.”

Jason’s love of wrestling became something deeply shared with his son, Dimitri. The two bonded over wrestling for years — watching matches together, talking endlessly about wrestling history and trivia, attending local shows, and dreaming about the future. Jason proudly supported Dimitri’s dream of becoming a wrestler and planned to stand beside him as his manager.

Jason also carried a deep love for his younger brother, Lane. Protective, loyal, and caring, Jason looked after his little brother fiercely, and the bond they shared remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Jason will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to the people he loved, his laughter, his kindness, and the way he made people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched.

A service to celebrate Jason’s life will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Seaford Baptist Church, 1311 Seaford Rd., Seaford.
