James Robert Belt was born on November 4, 1956, and passed away on November 17, 2022.  He was a sweet and loving soul that was taken away too soon.  He recently retired after 37 years as an electrician from Hampton Roads Sanitation District.  He was a loving husband , father, grandfather and brother, to his family.  James loved spending time with his friends and family.

He loved being outdoors and hosting get togethers.  He was often the one encouraging everyone to spend time together.  There are many fond memories of his summer pool parties.  He adored his puppies, Emmy and Coco and made sure they were always spoiled.

James was a child at heart and loved all toys and games.  He often got new gadgets to play with and was so happy to play.

James will be sorely missed by his friends and family.  He will forever be in their hearts and souls.  He was preceded in death by mother, Ruby Belt; father, Paul Belt Sr, and brother, Paul Belt Jr.  He is survived by his wife, Debra "Debbie" Belt; children, Terry Belt, Chelsea Belt, Kimberly Belt, Selena Worley, Leha Worley; siblings, Bill Belt, Betty Gatewood, Anna Luther, Robert (Tody) Belt and John Belt; and grandchildren, Brianna Belt, Jeremiah Belt, Haylee Belt and Emorie Benner.
