Guy Ware Mugler, 83, widower of Patricia Alice Mugler, passed away on January 11, 2022. A lifelong
resident and native of Phoebus, he graduated from Hampton High School in 1957, served three years in
the US Army, then attended the IBEW Apprenticeship School where he graduated in 1964.
Guy was a 60 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 1340. He
worked over 30 years in Civil Service at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Fort Eustis and with the Corps of
Engineers at Fort Monroe. After retirement he worked in maintenance at NASA.
He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he helped with
maintenance and served as an Usher.
Guy was preceded in death by his son, David Alan Mugler; and siblings, Margaret M. Robbins,
Christopher C. Mugler, Hamlet M. Mugler, Julia M. Mugler and Harry O. Mugler. He is survived by his
brother Thomas Mugler; daughters, Betty Lou Carper-Steel (Jeff) and Laura Anne Jones (Edward);
grandchildren, Samantha Milam, Casandra Jones, Kyle Carper, Katelyn Steel, Wyatt and Carson Jones,
Gavin Towner, Kailee, Ashley and Guy Mugler; and great grandchildren, Cadence Milam and Wesley
Jones.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 on January 27, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church by Rev. John Grace.
The family wishes, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Food
Pantry at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2150 Cunningham Dr., Hampton, VA 23666
