Eva Mae Williams-Brown, 87, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on February 18, 2023 in Newport News, Virginia.
Per Eva's wishes, the services will be private with burial in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.
Eva Mae Williams was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Mr. Williams and Carrie Lena Jones on January 7, 1936. She went to school at Booker T. Washington High School. She married Franklin J. Brown on July 14, 1978 in Torrance, California. She attended Grambling State University. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Mary Immaculate Hospital for 30 plus years. She was involved in the Red Hatters club, Flying Twenties Social Club Auxiliary, and served as a Deaconess at Zion Baptist Church of Newport News, Virginia.
Eva Smith-Brown is preceded in death by both parents, and her brother, Charles Wesley Lynch.
Eva Smith-Brown is survived by her husband, Franklin J. Brown; Sons, Jerome Anderson, Toby Smith; Stepson, Franklin J. Brown, Jr., Donald Brown (Georgia), Steven Brown (Kimberly); Stepdaughters, Robin Hughes, Michelle Seabury, other stepchildren; Grandchildren, Jermaine Anderson, Antoine Smith; and great grandchildren.
The Brown family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Susan Enich, Chelsea Sherman and Tara Palmer, exemplary nurses with Interim HealthCare (Hospice), Fay Jennings; Reverend Tremayne Johnson, pastor of Zion Baptist Church.
