Effie "Marie" Hunt passed away on Sunday, July 17 th, at the age of ninety and a half. She was born in Bremen, KY in January of 1932. At the time of her death, she resided at The Chesapeake retirement community in Newport News, VA. She was funny, outspoken and had a love for dogs. She enjoyed watching the birds and the brilliant sunsets from the back deck of her sons' home in Poquoson. She never missed "Wheel of Fortune," "Jeopardy" or University Kentucky Men's College Basketball. She graduated from Union College, in Barbourville, KY in 1966 with a degree in Nursing. This past February she earned her 45-year chip from AA. A gift she and her three children were very proud of.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, the cherished "Sadie Hawkins Day Dance" catch, Wally Hunt Sr and her grandson, Triston T. Hunt. She is survived by her three children Suzanne Prior of FL, Linda Espey of IA, and Albert Hunt JR and Ann of Poquoson, VA. She was called Grandma "Ree" by her five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was a member of St. Luke's UMC in Yorktown. Celebration of Life services are planned for 2:00 pm, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at The Chesapeake, 955 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA.
