Hampton,

Edward Shuman, 77, passed away on March 11, 2025.  Born in Dayton, OH, he has been a resident of Hampton since 1987.  He first retired from the US Air Force in 1990 after 20 years. Then he retired again in 2017, as an instructor at Centura College at the Newport News Campus.

Edward, call sign WD0FYV, was an active HAM radio operator for over 40 years.  He loved to talk to other HAMs and work contests throughout the years.  He was a founding member of the Hampton Public Service Team.  He was also a member of Spark.  He loved helping wherever he could regarding emergency management.

Edward is survived by his wife of 55 years Elise Terre Shuman; daughters, Stephanie Faith Shuman, April Michelle Shuman and Anna Danielle Shuman; sister, Arlene Shuman-Grove; brother, Howard M. Shuman; nephew, Jacob Grove and his best buddy, Cheyenne the dog.

The family will receive friends from 11am-1:30pm, Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Berceuse funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr., Hampton, VA, 757-825-8070.
