In Loving Memory of Edna Marie Prince

January 2, 1957 – November 22, 2025

Edna Marie Prince, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 22, 2025, at her home.

Born in Tachikawa Tokyo, Japan to Mildred and Eddie Taylor, she grew up in Lompoc, California. Edna was the second youngest of four siblings.

She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and her Christian faith remained strong and committed until her death.  She attended Bethel Temple and Victory Life Church until her health declined.

She received her bachelor's degree from Christopher Newport University. She was a lifelong advocate for social services and children. She dedicated over 10 years to Social Services, working at the Newport News Social Services inspiring countless young minds with her patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in every child's potential.

Edna's life was filled with love, laughter, and service... Her warm smile and gentle spirit touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, who served as her primary caregiver for many years, Retired Air Force Senior Master Sargent Larry D. Prince; her children, Retired Air Force Sargent Larry D. Prince, Jr. of Tampa, Florida;  Lionell J. Prince of Wiesbaden Army airfield Germany and daughter, Melissa Prince of Roanoke, Virginia; two brothers, Dr. Eddie Taylor of Seattle Washington, and  Glenn Taylor, Jr. of Lompoc, CA; sister Linda Taylor of Glendale, AZ; and a host nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Eddie Taylor.

Edna's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Edna's journey was marked by: unwavering love for her family, a passion for helping children, a generous heart, always ready to help others, and an infectious laugh that brightened every room.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
