Obituary

Christopher Paul Liakos, August 23, 1964 – September 15, 2024, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his sisters. Chris was predeceased by parents George S. Liakos and Agnes T. Hillis Liakos; sisters Patricia Amburgey and Barbara Jean Langley, 3 brothers-in-law and a great nephew.

Chris is survived by siblings, George Liakos (Gayle), Mary Beth Joyner (Tom), Kathleen Ames (Bill), Janet Dudley (David), Suzie Ellis, Thomas Liakos (Roxanne), Margie Manus (T.G.), Louis Liakos (Michele), Aggie Criner (Robert), and Virginia Staley (David); 29 nieces and nephews and 38 great nieces and great nephews; and three loyal friends, Steve Hobler, Pryor James and Joe Stopski.

Chris was an accomplished carpenter. He loved his dogs, Bay & Cocoa, who accompanied him on many camping trips with friends to the West Virginia Mountains, where he was in his element and one with nature. He took care of a plethora of plants, acquired unique and unusual artwork and was happiest when purchasing and giving gifts to loved ones, family and friends. Towards the end of his life, he wrote daily in a journal, listened to podcasts, researched many topics and spent one on one time with family and dear friends.

Chris and family are very grateful to his Oncologist, Dr. George J. Kannarkat, MD, and his compassionate and caring staff.
