Charles "Chuck" Albert Stay, III, 67, passed away on March 21, 2024.  Born in Long Island, NY, he has been a resident of the Peninsula since 1969, where he graduated from Ferguson High School and attended Thomas Nelson Community College.  He worked as a Welder for various boat yards.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Stay, Jr.; brother, Robert Michael Stay; and niece, Samantha Marie Julian.  He is survived by his beloved partner, Victoria Vargas; mother, Virginia R. Stay; son, Charles A. Stay, IV; siblings, Brian F. Stay (Karen),  Diane M. Spilde (Rich), and Susan M. Julian; grandchildren, Madelyn, Katryna and Alexzenna; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in St. Michael Hall of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 144 Harpersville Rd. in Newport News.  The family wishes, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to your favorite charity.
