On Friday, April 23, 2021, United States Army Veteran Bennie Lee Tobias passed away. He was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Willie Horrace Tobias and Annie Bell Martin Tobias on September 8, 1930.

The family relocated to Newport News, Virginia to make a better life. He was educated in the Newport News Public School System.

He retired from the Hampton Roads Sanitation Department as a driving instructor.

He leaves cherished memories to his devoted daughters Annette Z. Tobias and Kanesa Kimble; sons Ben Martin Tobias (Esynce) and Brendan David Tobias; three granddaughters Kiyona, Kiya, and Kevona Kimble; grandson, Ryan Tobias; sister (deceased) Willie Frances Warren; brother John David Tobias; sister Viola T. Plenty; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
