Alice Watson Schwartz

Alice “Dee” Watson Schwartz, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Born In Alexandria, Virginia, she was a Hampton/Newport News resident for 45 years.

Dee graduated from Christopher Newport University with her bachelor’s and went on to Norfolk State University and graduated with her Master’s degree. She worked as a Homeless Services Program Manager at The Community Services Board for 30 years. She was known and loved by many she worked with for over the 30 years. Dee was known for fighting for the people who still deserved a chance at life. Outside of work, she enjoyed loving her cats, having lunch with her girls and shopping with her daughter. Dee loved playing darts with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Zoey Leigh Schwartz; her father, Charles Roger Watson, Jr.; and her mother, Alice Evans Watson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Erica Schwartz; brother, Andrew Watson; sister-in-law, Angela Burke; and nephews, Alex and Ayric Watson, Auston Bergeron, and Aadyn Hare.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at All Generations Church. 28 Harpersville Road, Newport News, VA 23601
